Converting Technology Expands
Manufacturing Operations to Meet Customer Needs

New equipment advances sales opportunities and gives
Converting Technology a competitive edge

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. — Converting Technology, a member of PAC Machinery Group, has increased its production capacity through the purchase of additional servo-driven wicketed and flat bag converting equipment.

By installing new equipment at their facility in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, Converting Technology has substantially increased capacity and efficiency.

“This new equipment allows us to be more competitive with our flat and wicketed bag offerings,” says Gregory Berguig, business development manager at Converting Technology. “This helps us better meet the needs of our customers.”

Converting Technology flat bags are compatible on all Packaging Aids, Vertrod, and Audion Automation bag sealers. Wicketed bags are optimized for running on the Titan Bagmaster Dropsealers from Audion Automation.

“We now have the ability to manufacture a broader range of products with more precise specifications,” says Joe Wieske, vice president of sales for Converting Technology.

This equipment allows for the manufacturing of polyethylene and ultra-clear polypropylene bags, as well as co-extruded multi-layer films. Applications include co-ex mailers, food, industrial, and textile products.

In addition, Converting Technology has also acquired reclosable zipper bag making abilities that can be implemented on both flat and wicketed bags.

Converting Technology offers printing capabilities for a variety of needs that include eight-color, two-sides, line, screen and process that can duplicate photographic quality images on bags.

“To round out an entire solution for wicketed and flat bag applications, the acquisition of additional bag making capacity combined with our print capabilities allows us to stay competitive and stay on top of the market demand,” says Berguig.

PAC Machinery Group (PMG), based out of San Rafael, California, is comprised of three long-time packaging machinery companies. Member companies include Vertrod, creator of thermal impulse sealing; Audion Automation, which makes automatic baggers, shrink and skin packaging machines; Converting Technology, which manufactures a wide variety of bags, including pre-opened bags-on-a-roll; and Packaging Aids Corporation, which manufactures vacuum sealers, band sealers, impulse sealers, flow wrappers, tray sealers, and other specialty bag sealers.
